CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.

The Board met on Thursday evening, when there were present Messrs Rutherford (in the chair), Bridgman, M'Kay, WiUjn, and Langmuir.

A communication was received from the Central Board of Health, enclosing a copy of tbe Public Health Act, 1872, and calling the Board’s attention to its provisions ; and the chairman was requested, on receiving information of the existence of Scarlet fever, to ■ give information of the same to the Central Board of Health. Messis Rutherford and Bridgman wer« appointed to wait on the Government to endeavor to forward tbe settlement of the claims of the Board against tho new municipalities on the flat, and also 1o ask for the forma tiou of a footpath in Catherine street, leading to the railway station, anti f .r the repairs ol a culvert on tho Main «outh road at Cochran’s Brewery. *he inspector reported that he had visited Mr dewitt’s premises, and that the nuisance complained of had been removed. the clerk was instructed to write to the Government for the I 50 promised for the footpath on tho Main South road, as the work was now litiished ; and to Mr Scoular, in reply to his letter asking stone from tho District quarry, staling that he can have the quantity he wants at (5d per load ; also to write to Mr IShind, Green Island, informing him of the offer made by tho Volunteers of tbe Drillshod to the Board, sending a copy of documents, and stating that the Board had accepted the offer.
