THE INTERPROVINCIAL CRICKET MATCH.

The Canterbury players arrived by the Taupe yesterday, and were received at Port Chalmers by the members of the match committee. Speaking .of the team the ‘Press’ of Saturday says : —“Upon looking over the names of the eleven we find that there are seven bowlers, all more or less good. Ashby, Corfe, and Sweet are the fast bowlersj and should come off on the Dunedin ground ; Lee is medium pace, whilst E. Fowler and Neilson are slow; and last but not least J. Fowler could be put on with fast underhand, which on many occasions has proved successful, The batting is well represented, and we expect Ashby, Baker, Corfe, E. Fowler, J. Fowler, Lee, Neilson, and OUivier will all make good scores. Ashby, Corfe, and E. Fowler are not in such good form as the others, but should the bowling get at all loose these players mil score well and very quickly. The fielding should bo first-class, as with one exception all the eleven are good in this department of the game. We are glad to hear the Match Committee’s arrangements are well forward. Admission to the ladies’ mar-quee will be by ticket, which can be obtained from the secretary or any member of the committee. It is intended, we believe, to give a cricketers’ ball during the visitors’ stay.
