SCHOOL COMMITTTEE ELECTION.
To the Editor.
SlB, —You are doubtless aware that the animal meeting of the ratepayers comes off on the evening of Monday next, in the Normal School, for the purpose of receiving the report of the School, Committee and electing a new committee for the ensuing year. As a parent, I desire to urge on all the ratepayers the importance of attending the meeting, Theie evidently r*quu>s some new blood, in order th.t some interest be taken in the Middle School. Teachers are being appointed to ocher schools—nothing being done to supply their places- The school gri uuds, with a surrounding dangerous embankment, remain impossible, the sight of which is sufficient to frighten parents; the mala building being taken away to embellish the (bills’ High Rch 01. In a word the Middle School, which has for so mny years been regarded, and justly so, as one of the best schools in Otago, is simply now beiug extinguished. I wish, Mr Editor, you would come to the rescue, auJ use y»ur peu in aid of a cause that seems to have no representative in the present committee. —I am, &c,, A Parent, Dunedin, Jan. 7.
