STATISTICAL.
Mr Monsou, Immigration Officer at Port Chalmers, furnishes us with the returns of immigration and emigration for December. From the United Kingdom there came 360 men, 253 women, and 238 children of both sexes ; Victoria sent us 117 men, 54 women, and 16 children ; New South Wales, 13 men, and 6 women ; Tasmania, 7 men, and 3 women. The emigration tables show that 19 men, 7 women, and 12 children went to England during the month ; 29, principally men, to New South Wales, while Victoria received from us 51 men, and 8 women.
