EDUCATION BOARD.

At the Board’s monthly meeting to-day there were present—the Superintendent (in the chair), Messrs Davie and Green. The Secretary reported with reference to the memorial of the Anderson’s Bay School Committee, who asked the Board to sanction the determination by them of their engagement with Mr Clark, the teacher of the school, that Mr Petrie and himself had spent a, very long evening this .week in investigating the matter. They had twenty different parties before them, and they had agreed to submit the following report Wo have held an inquiry into the charges brought by thd Anderson’s Bay School Committee against their teacher, Mr Clark. We have carefully considered the statements made by the Committee and the teacher, as well as the evidence brought forward by them, and we beg to report that in our opinion the evidence laid before us does rot warrant us in recommending that the Board should sanction so extreme a measure as the termination of Mr Clarks engagement as master of the Anderson’s f^ 001 - The evidence, which is somewhat conflicting, we forward herewith. J. Hislop. D. Petrie, M.A, The Board adopted a minute declining to sanction tho determination of Mr Clark’s engagement. A copy of the report was ordered to be forwarded to the parties concerned.
