CITY POLICE COURT.
Friday, January 7. (Before V. Pyke, Esq, and J. S. Hickson. Esq , J.P.’s, Drunkenness.— Chas.. Bult. Henry Joseph, and Griffith Jones, charged with drunkenness, were all fined ss, with the alternative of twentyfour hours’ imprisonment. Theft.— Henry Hicks pleaded guilty to stealing a door-scraper, value ss, on or about December 30, the property of John Anderson, and,was rent to gaol for fourteen days. The Railway Regulations. —George Cronk was charged with getting into a railway carriage while in motion. _ The evidence showed that defendant jumped into the carriage through the window just prev.ous to the train starting. The Bench held that although defendant had doubtless intended to commit an offei.ee, none had been committed, the train not having been in motion at the time. The case was dismissed. Assault —James M'Pherson v. William Hall, a charge of this nature, was dismissed.
