The Evangelist for January is a good number. Ine snort notes contain much interesting information, and the more elaborate papers will well repay perusal. Wo are glad that this serial is drawing attention to the coming struggle on national education, and that the views enunciated in favor of a secular system are sound. The historical notices sc»ttored through the numbers are valuable. The * New Zealand Wesleyan i lor January is an excellent number. There arc several very good papers written in an energetic, straightforward, healthy style, calculated to carry convict ion of their truth to all readers. Its criticisms or© directed mainly towards the doings of the Wesleyans themselves, with a view to confirming what is good, and correcting what is amiss in the Church. “ Through paths of Peace,” a “Story of the Revival,” 16 well written, and seems likely to prove very interesting.
