HARBOR BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Board was held to-day. Present—The Superiaiendent (in the chair), Messrs Davie, Tewsley, ‘U'Kinnou, Reeves, Turnbull, M‘N«ill, and Reid. The engineer's report tor December, showing the amount of work Wonfe during the month, \saa read and approvedjof. There was some talk of the accident to the crane, and the Board had under consideration *|“ e • / ‘-‘ au s e of the same. It was decided that Mr Chalker, who had cha.ge of the crane, and his two assistants should be held liable for the damage. Messrs Kincaid and M’QueenV, tender for L7O 13s for repairing the crane was accepted. Mr 1 ewaley requested some information regarding Crown grants held by the Board. The replied that they were at present in the hands of the Board’s solicitor. Mr Turnbull’s motion, “ That if a quorum is not present within fifteen minutes of the hour ;at 'which, the meeting is called for, the meeting be adjourned to the same day and oour °n the following week ” was carried The Board then inspected Mr Jenkins’s patent of a tidal incline and elevated hopper for reclamation purposes.
