GOOD TEMPLARISM.

At yesterday afternoon's sitting the Grand Lodge Degree was conferred on Broß. King and Fargher, representative* from the Juapeka District, and on Bix officers and past officers of the Mount Cargill and other lodges, who then took their places in the Grand Lodge. Important alterations were made ia the Constitution of the Grand Lodge Executive. After considerable discussion it was agreed lhat the next meeting of the Grand Lodge be held on the Beoond Tuesday in December. A proposal to incro se the initiation and quarterly fees called forth a warm and interesting debate, and after the Grand J odge had divided on Beveral amendments on the original proposition, alt of which were lost, the substantive motion was also, lost, and the bye-law on the eubj ct remains unaltered. At the evening sitting the Gtand Lodge Degree was conferred on eighteen officers and past oncers of subordinate 1 "dgesi The rulings of the G. W.C.T. given duiing the past year, were after full consideration, confirmed. A special committee was appointed to prepaie votes of thanks to Bra. and Sißter Carr for valuable services rendered to the Grand Lodge. The Grand Lodge resumed ifcs sittings this morning at ten o'clock, Bro. S. P. Andrews, G.W.O.T. in the chair. The reports of the G. W.S. and G.W.T. were under consideration during the whole of the session. The Finance Couruittee's report elicited a lively debate, but after full discussion, it was unanimously adopted, save so much as referred to the rcmuner.tion of the G.W. Secretary, which was delayed until the question of the remuneration of that officer come specially before the Grand Lodge. The financial statement of the G.W.B. shows a balance of L 154 4s 4d at the Cr. of the Grand Lodge. The number of members in good standing throughout the jurißdicdiction on Ist November last as 6,500, in 102 lodges. The total number of violations of obligations during the year haß been 726. At twelve o'clock the Session adjourned till 3 p.m to allow the several committees to prepare and ring up their reports. I'ite afternoon Session was engaged in the election of officers with the following result: — G.W.C. Templar, Bro. J. A. D. Adams, Dunedin; G.W. Councillor. Bro. W. T. C. Mills, Christchurch j G.W.V. Templar, Rro. Thomas Turnbull, Hoki'iku; G.W. Secretary, Bro. D. 0. Cameron, Dunedin. I he following were omitted from the list of representatives who took their Beats yesterday morning : Dunedin District Bro. \V. Carr Wukatip do „ S. Symonde.
