Drunkenness —Catherine Looney, Emily Jauo Haley, and Robert Kueedson, having been in tUo luck up since Saturday, were all discharged wilh a caution ; James King, (Jhailes Johnson, and George Hamilton, for being drunk on Sabbath bay. wore each lined 10i, with the alternative of ferty-eight hours’ imprisonment.—lnspector Mallar d stated that the woman Haley had turned over ‘‘a iew leaf, 5 ' and for some months p.sthad been a Good Templar, A Riotous Individual.— Anthony Barrett, a stalwart fellow, for being drunk was fr>ed 40s, in default three days’ imprisonment; for assrulting Dunstable Owen Duffy 1.3, or one month’s imprisonment; aud for damaging the constable's uniform 1.3, or two months’ imprisonment. nabbath Desecration.—Wm. S. Dry Jen, for committing a breach of the peace in Moray place at 9 p.nu yesterday, was lined 20s, or in default forty-eight hour-d imprisonment. 1 heft. —George Wain pleaded guilty to stealing from Kensington on December 14 a quantity of woatiug apparel, of the value of L 9 IGs, the property of Mary MM.aughlin.— Inspector Mallard said this was a very moan theft. Prosecutrix, a woman of the town, was in course of law sentenced to three mouths’ imp. isooment. ffhe left her house at. Kensington furnished, and a quantity of wearing apparel in it. ihis ner, who had known her, broke her confidence, and while the woman was in oAol took the things, ieamithchouscout, and sold everything. The woman, he considered, had been very harshly treated.—Prisoner was sentenced lo six months’ imprisonment.
