Punga was off second. Daniel third, and Fishhook fourth. They kept in this order until about thre-quarters of a mile from home, when Daniel cut down Punga, and made a desperate effort to overhaul Korari; but though the Irishman was whipped all the way up the straight, Korari won as ho liked, hands down, by seven lengths. Punga was a good third, and Fishhook a long way behind. The Jockey Club Handicap, of 100 sovs, added to a sweep of 3 sovs each. The second horse to save his stake. One mile and a half. Mr FI. This was a splendid race between Guy Fawkes and Templeton. Guy took the lead, Templeton second, all the others in a cluster. About half way round Flora made a rush forward, but could not keep with her company. Then Templeton challenged Guy for first place, passing all the others easily. Then came the tug of war between the two, and a splendid run up the straight ensued, Guy winning by half a length, Templeton whipping hard.
