CONSULTATION CHESS MATCH.
LAWRENCE V DUNEDIN. This match was resumed on Monday at half-past 7 p.m. The Dunodinf representatives had the first move, and elected t-» play a bold attacking game. It resulted in its turning the famous Muzio Gambit, by which the players who have the first move sacrifice most willingly a knight for the sake of the Btrong position which they obtain by doing so. The Lawrence players have replied mo it correctly so far, though many a tinu they were in a most critical position from powerful attack which their adversaries have all along kept up. After playing till a quarter past one o'clock it was arranged to resume the game on Wtdnescay evening, at eight o'clock. Perhaps this is the most interesting game of the series, and our readers, by placing over the move-i, will find it reflects great credit on both clu:>s. It is impossible to say at present how it will terminate, as both clubs have almost an equal chance of winning. Balow is the game po far : MUZIO GAMBIT.
