BOARD OF HEALTH.

The Central Board of Health met this day ; present—The Superintendent, Messrs Davie’ Fish, Reid, and Dr Brown. * The following motion was carried “ That the Health * 'fficera at the Bluff and Port Chalmers be directed to make an inspection of all vessels arriving from Melbourne, in terms of section 64 of the Public Health Act, and that the authorities of Westland be requested to cooperate by giving similar instructions to the Health Officer at Hekitihs.” Mr Fish declined to vote. it The following motion also was carried; “That the attention of the local Board of Hedth be directed to the neeessity of providing a fever hospital in Dunedin at the earliest possible date.” It was resolved that copies of the Public Health Act be transmitted to the municipalities of St. Kilda and South Dunedin, with a view to their exercising the functions devolving on them under the said Act.
