INVERCARGILL AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

Invercargill, December 10. The ninth annual show of the Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Association came off on Thursday, and proved a great success. The weather was beautifully fine, and about 3,000 people were present. Last year the number of exhibits was 243, this year 415. Amongst the horses, the strength lay in drafts ; in cattle, in short-horns and Ayrshire; and in sheep, in the long wools classes. The winner of the fiwl prise for short-horn bulls belonged to Mr M Donald, of Inch Clutha; and in agricu) tural implements, Reid and Gray, of Dunedin car ned away many of the honors. Altogether, the show was the most successful of the kind ever held m Southland.
