CRICKET.
[By Telegraph.] {From our own correspondent ) Lawrence, December 1. The cricket match Lawrence v. Tokomairiro came off yesterday. The Tokomairiro team arrived early, and play was commenced at eleveu, Bruce went first to the wicke'saud scored 88. Lane, Browne, and Dickson being the highest scorers, Downes (captain) and Hamilton bowled for Lawrence. The Lawrence eleveu scored SO in their first innings, Downes and Harr a way contributing 22 apiece. Bruce in their second innings only scored 29, none of the players g tting into double figures. Lawrence sent in Harraway and Towsoy, The latter was soon after run out, and Downes then joined Han away. These two soon made the requisite number of runs, and Lawrence won with nine wickets to go down, bownes won the bat presented by the Mayor to the highest scorer. The weather was all that could be desired, and the attendance large. The return match will b > played shortly.
