DEPUTATION.
This afternoon a deputation representing the School Committee and Town Council of Port Chalmers waited upon the Superintendent, and urged upon his Honor the desirability of the prison gang being continued at the Pori for a few days and employed in reducing Ajax road to the school buildings. His Honor agreed to the request conditionally that the work did not take longer than this week. The Corporation have undertaken to provide the necessary carts.
