Blair Athol was knocked dawn to H. Goolman, of Dunedin, for 130 g dneas ; Cocksure, to Harry Rrince, book-maker, for L 250 guineas ; Twitter, to A. Drake, bookmaker, for 135 guineas ; Hercules, 120 guineas and Castilian 60 guineas, to Mr ML'lvor, .of Blenheim. Kauri, The Chief, Cl ith of Go d, Korari, The Fair Puritan colt, Kanolf, Malvina, Tommy Dodd, and Fakeha failed to realise their owners' reserve, and wen* passed in. The committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club met last evening to consider the question of admitting two nominations for the Spring Meeting that had only reached the secretary that morning, the advertis d ime for their reception being last Saturday evening, before 8 p.m. The late entries wese Mr W. Davis’s (Timaru).Seven Bells and Mr Doyle’s (East Taieri) Euclid. After discussion it was resolved that the wording of the programme—- “ that nominations and entries will not be received after the time stated” be sti ictly adhered to. and the nominations in question were therefore not received.
