Wauganni, for Lyttelton, November 9. The Taranaki is being pushed along the coast very expeditiously. She is expected to reaoh Wellington to-night. The Vasco de Ganm comes down the coast, and leaves Port Chalmers on the 17th inat. with the out■ward San Francisco mail. The Three Brothers, from Napier to Mercury Bay, is supposed to be lost. She is insured for L 1.500 in .the New Zealand Office, and reinsured in the Victoria for LSOO. The owners are Messrs Vantier, of Napier. At 9.30 this morning there was launched from the yard of Messrs Sparrow and Co., on the reclaimed ground, the iron steamer built by that iirm for Jlessrs Seagar and Co., of Wellington. She was christened, with the usual ceremonies, the Tni, by Miss Ja.no Hunter Sparrow. Captain JBoriner, for. merly of the s.s. luo, has been appointed to the command of the new steamer. Captain Fraser, laie inner pilot at Wellington, has been appointed to the command of the steamer being bmlfc here for a Napier fircn. Messrs M'Mockan, Blackwood's s.s. Alhambra, from Melbourne, via the Bluff, arrived alongside the railway pier" this roovuiug. She left Melbourne at 2.30 p.m. on the 30th nit, passed Swan. Island at 6 p.m. next day; experienced N. to NE. winds until the Ist inst., thence high and contused sea, the barometer during the passage ranging from 29.40 to 29.0, with every indication of a gale; passed tho Solanders at 12.20 a.m. on the sth, and arrived at the Bluff at 6.30 a.m.; left again at 4 p.m., and arrived as above.
