At 9.30 this morning there was launched from the yard of Messrs Sparrow and Co., on the reclaimed ground, the iron steamer built by that iirm for Jlessrs Seagar and Co., of Wellington. She was christened, with the usual ceremonies, the Tni, by Miss Ja.no Hunter Sparrow. Captain JBoriner, for. merly of the s.s. luo, has been appointed to the command of the new steamer. Captain Fraser, laie inner pilot at Wellington, has been appointed to the command of the steamer being bmlfc here for a Napier fircn. Messrs M'Mockan, Blackwood's s.s. Alhambra, from Melbourne, via the Bluff, arrived alongside the railway pier" this roovuiug. She left Melbourne at 2.30 p.m. on the 30th nit, passed Swan.
