FIRE AT MANUKA CREEK.
The five at Kavanagh’s Hotel, Manuka Creek, appeals to have been caused by a man named Keating, employed at the Round Hill tunnel, leavin' a candle burning in his bedroom while he weno to play in another part of the building. An hour afterwards the alarm of fire was raise 1. A good deal of furniture and stock, and an adjoining stable, in which were a number of coach horses, were saved by the exertions of neighbors, The premises were insured in the Standard Office for 1 300. The ‘ Bruce Herald ’ understands that an inquiry will be held into the origin of the fire. J
