October 25. —Lady of the Lake, s.s., 60 tons, Urquhart, for the Molyneux. October 26.—Samson, p.s., 124 tons, Edic, for Oamaru. Maria Trinidad, ship, 1,143 tons, Bernstein, for Newcastle. Beautiful Star, s.s., 146 tons, Peterson, for Lyttelton, via Timaru. —.— The ship Maria Trinidad, for Newcastle, was towed to sea this morning by the tug Geelong. The schooner Pioneer, with a full cargo of coal from Shag Point, arrived this morning, and passed the port to Dunedin. The Union Company’s s.s. Beautiful Star sailed this afternoon for her usual trip to Lyttelton, via Timaru, * The Union Company’s p.s. Samson sailed shortly after the arrival of the first train from Dunedin this morning for her usual trip to Oamaru. The N.Z.S. Company’s Wellington made a trial trip in Auckland harbor yesterday, and with 251hs pressure of steam and her engines making seventythree revolutions per minute, attained a speed of twelve knots. The barque British Empire having commenced to unmoor this morning to take her departure for Napier, at which port she will load for Loudon, she unfortunately broke her windlass, which wili detain her in poi t for a few day?.
