THE REYNOLDS TESTIMONIAL.
To the Editor.
Sir,—Your foot note to my letter, which appeared in your isme of yesterday, is worse than tlie local of which I complained. I deny in (oto that tho decision said to have been arrived at was by the general consent of the committee. ( have never heard of it, and 1 know of others who aay tlie same. 1 contend that, before coming to any decision, the whole of the subscribers should have been consulted as to what form the testimonial to Mr Reynolds should take. Besides, I think it altogether too bad to collect subscriptions from traders in Dunedin, and then semi the money out of the (,'olor.y, particularly when, without doubt, there are plenty of shops in town where the testimonial could have been profitably purchased. It appears to me there has been a little hole-and-coruer work going on.—l am, H. S', Ersif, .(cnr. Dunedin, October 23,
