THE REYNOLDS TESTIMONIAL.
To the Editor. Sir, —I observe in your local columns of tonight a statement that the committee of gentlemen who took in hand the superintendence of matters in connection with the presentation of a testimonial to Mr Reynolds met last evening and decided to send Home by Saturday’s mail for the testimonial to be presented to him. I think, sir, your information must be incorrect, inasmuch as I am hun. secretary to the committe and I did not summon or know anything of such meeting. Will you kindly inform your readers where the meeting took place and who attended. If this were done I fancy the Enblic, the subscribers, and even Mr Reynolds imself would feel more satisfied. I think the whole thing mu-t bo a canard. —I am, &c., H. S. Eish, junr. Dunedin, .October 21. [A member of the committee informs us that no formal meeting of that body was held, but as the members thought the matter had been kejjt open sufficiently long, the decision reported by us was arrived at by general consent.—Ed.
