ST. PAUL’S PAROCHIAL SCHOOL.

The ceremony of laying the foundation stone of St. Paul's Parochial School, to be built on the site formerly occupied by the Classical Academy, Upper Stuart street, took place this afternoon. The service was conducted by Bishop Nevill, assisted by Archdeacon Edwards ami the Rev. Mr Leeson. Mr Quick having presented Mrs Nevill with a handsome silver trowel, which that lady used in a very artistic manner, the stone was levelled. The Bishop then dfdivored a short address, saying that although they would be provided in tin? building with rooms in which to hold their meetings from time to time it was principally intended as a place in which to instil religion into the hearts if the younger members of the Church. It was net enough to say there we-e Sunday Schools set apart for the special cultivation of religion : he desired them to have it impei ceptibly woven into their hearts by praying when opportunity occurred, and not to regard religion as a special subject only to be attended to on a special day. Possibly P might be felt necessary to increase the parochial boundaries by s"ch structures as they that day commenced, and if subscriptions had to be asked for that i mpose, he btsecched them to give them ungrudgingly, otherwise the Church could not exist.

The choir, under IMr A. J, Towscy, rendered the 130 th and ‘M4th hymns. The proceedings terminated with prayer.
