Wednesday, September 15. (Before J. S. Esq., and Di i^iven, J.P.'s.)

Drunkenness. William Wiseman and Patrick Duffy were each fined ss, with the alternative of twenty-four hours' imprisonment ; John Scott was also fined 5s ; Catherine Kooney 203, in default three days' imprisonment.

Obscene Language.—John Scott, charged with using obscene language in Walker street, was fined 20s, in default three days' imprisonment ; 1 'atherine liooney, a very old offender, was ordered to pay LlO, with the option of three weeks' imprisonment. Creating a Disturbance.—Martin King and James Kennedy were charged, on the information of Constable Conn, on suspicion of having, on the sth ins l ., taken part in an affray at Kaikorai to th# disturbance of Her Majesty's subjects, f,>r which he asked that they be bound over to keep the peace.—A man named James O'Connell had also be?n summoned, but being confined to his bed was unable to appear.—James Wright said defendants took part in the affray, although O'i onnell and another man were the ringleaders. They fought with fence rails, and pelted each other with metal from the road.—The case against King was dismissed, and that against Kennedy adjourn d until O'C'umell had sufficiently recovered to appear.
