Drunkenness. -David Flynn was fined 10s, with the alternative of twenty-fours' imprisonment; James Burke, 20a or forty-eight hours' imprisonment. Charge of Theft.—George Turner, charged with stealing from the shop ®f David Simpson on the 7th inst, two pocket-knives, ono package of cocoa, one square of soap, aud a quantity of bisouits, to the value of 4s, was let off with a caution.

Obscene Language.--Robert Warrington v. Thomas Bardon—a trumpery charge of using abusive and obscene language in Fleet streetwas dismissed.

Assault.—George Cervich, a most disgust-ing-looking object, whoßeface and clothes were covered with tilth of all descriptions?, was charged by Thomas Pavelitch with assaulting nun,—The Bench remarked that it would only be a charity to send defendant to gaol so that he might be cleaned and bathed, a. more disgusting or filthy sight they had never before witnessed. Defendant was sent to gaol for fourteen days, Mr Birch saying that out of decency's sake he should not be allowed to go at largo in the state in which he then Was. Inspector Mallard stated that ho had known defendant for over three years. He was even cleaner tl:en than when he (the Inspector) had seen him on former occasions.
