Hogg and Hutton v. Alexander Fleming.— Claim of L2l, goods supplied. Mr Denniston appeared for plaintiffs, for whom judgment was given with costs.

John Logan v. John Brown (Oamaru).—This was a fraud summons. The case was adjourned for T a - m - ontIl » tnere bein S insufficient evidence. J. Meenanv. William Adams.—This was a fraud summons on a claim of L2. The caße wab adjourned for a month to enable defendant to settle the claim.

After the evidence had been partly heard the case was adjourned for a fortnight, to enable Mr Leary to examine the accounts ana appear as a witness. Simon Saunders (Catlin's River) v. G. F Reid.—Claim of Lll 17s. money paid by plaintiff for the use of the defendant. Mr Bathgate appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Harris for the defendant.—Plaintiff deposed that when he was master of the s.s.,Lady of the Lake, of which defendant was owner and agent, he discharged a man named Andrews for incompetency. Andrews brought an action and obtained judgment against witness, who now sought to recover the expenses connected therewith.— Defendant deposed that plaintiff had dismissed the man without any good reason. Andrews not having misconducted himself, or warranted summary dismissal, plaintiff should bear the expense of his own foolish action.—Judgment was reserved.
