Drunkenness. Richard Hogan, William (jribb, Joseph M'Millan, and John R. Mans fifh i were each fined 63, with the usual alternative.
Assaulting a Polioe Officer.—John R. sr?p- S | cka T?®d with assaulting Constable M Kelney on Macandrew road, was ordered to pay a penalty of 20s ; in default, forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. Stealing a Dog. —Joseph M'Millan was 1 a Jt> j’ °n remand, with stealing a Newfoundlaml dog, the property of Jacob Litzenberg, coffee-stall keeper,-Mr Aldridge, who defended, said that while accused had taken the dog he did so in a fit of drunkenness.—Evidence was given to show that prisoner had been drinking very heavily of late. —The Bench discharged him with a severe caution.
