Major Atkinson’s speech last night was admittedly very weak. There was only one point in it, his defence of the legal position of the Government with reference to the Local Government and Abolition Bills.
L6OO appears on the Estimates for the inspection of prisons, and LIO,OOO for a second cable across Cook' Strait.
