DUNEDIN. The election of two members in the City Council for South Ward, two for High Ward, and two for Leith Ward took place to-day; as also did the election of two auditors by the whole City. In Leith Ward only were there signs of unusual excitement, but there the election was hard fought. Not only did those ambitious of municipal honors make a thorough canvas in their own ward, but vehicles placarded with the name of at least one of the Leith Ward candidates were frequently to be seen in the remote southern end of the City.
