COUNCILLORS FOR SOUTH WARD.

To the Editor, , —A requisition is being taken round for signature by some of the ratepayers of South Ward, asking Mr Fish to reconsider his retirement from municipal politics, and stand again. To say the least of it, it appears greatly out of place to ask one to represent a Ward when he is already at variance with the Council and has a lawsuit pending in consequence. Mr Fish acted honorably in retiring, and it would be ill in keeping were he to seek re-election at the present time under existing circumstances. —I am, &c. _ A Ratepayer, Dunedin, July 27.
