Sib, —Are our best citizens awaro of the opportunity just under their noses ? Do they know that it is certain we shall have during the r-usuing year the future king of these realms hero, in the language of the Synod, “ even in our own midst; ” and what may happen to a man in the Mayoi’s chair in that event ? None of your St. Michaels, St. Georges, or any of the minor dignities, but the genuine thing, sir ! Knighthood pure and simple, in the orthodox fadiion in use since before the days of the immortal Whittington.—l am, &c., Mt Conscience ! Dunedin, July 17.
