CITY COUNCIL.
There is plenty of work for the City Council on Wednesday. In addition to thirteen motions that have stood over for some lime, Cr. Carroll is to move that an engineer should be appointed to report on tho plans for the new Gasworks now in tho possession of the Council, to furnish an estimate of tho cost of erecting works in conformity with such plans, and to report whether these plans are suitable for the requirements of the city. The special business is to ballot out one member for each ward.
