CARE REQUIRED.

To the Editor. Sir,— As I was going down George street last night I was socosted at the corner of St. Andrew and George streets bv a gentleman who asked me to go down by Jack’s bakery. Here he pointed out to me a large box of fire against the hons'*, and we at once commenced to knock at the door, but no one came. A f ter n. gopd deal pf trouble and exertion we managed to extinguish the flames. I think such g state of things shows great carelessness. I am, ifc., Watchdog, Dunedin, July 9.
