HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A meeting of the committee of the Royal Horticultural Society of Otago was held at the Occidental Hotel yesterday evening; present— Messrs Robert H?y (in the chair), R. Mackay, A. Begg, A. Grant, Lawrence, Ogilvie, G. E. West, Matthews, Pledger, and Hislop (secretary). A letter from Mr Kirkpatrick, regretting that he could not accept the position of a member of committee, was received and read, and Mr Walter Rush was appointed a member of committee in his stead. It was agreed that two shows be held this season—the first on the 15th of December, and the second on the 17th March. Messrs Hay, Begg, Lawrence, and the Vice-President were appointed a sub-committee to revise the schedules and to report at the next meeting of the committee, to be held on the 30th instant. The members’ annual subscription was fixed at 10s 6d each, and Mr Seward was appointed to collect subscriptions.
