RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Wednesday, June 23. (Before J. Bathgate, Esq., R.M.) OIVII, OASES. Matheron Bros, v. Sinum. —Claim, L 9 9s 6d. Judgment for the amount claimed, with costs. Meenan y. Macaulay.—Claim T«7 3sld, for goods supplied. L 6 had been paid since the summons was served. Judgment for LI 3s Id. Cameron v. Brooke.—Claim L 24 12s.—Mr Aldridge appeared for the plaintiff. Mr Stout for b the defendant, stated that he had reoeiyed a telegram from the (defendant stating
his inability to bo present. A set-off for L 33 was put in, part of which was admitted.— Plaintiff said that he went into defendant’s employ on the 11th May. There was no special agreement made as to salary, but defendant told witness that he would give him the highest wages going.—The case was adjourned till Friday, to enable the defendant to be present. [Left sitting.]
