MORE LIGHT.

To the Editor. Sib, —Your correspondent “ J. T. Kempson ” ""puld have done a good service to the residents of Dunedin, hot strangers, had he suggested i? W i° ne read the names of the streets oa the lamp-pests. Perhaps where he speaks of they got value for their money. I suppose tht standard lighting contract would be twentycandle gas, costing the ratepayers 60s per lamp per annum. But in Dunedin we have only got the length of farthing-candle gas, which costs the ratepayers ten guineas pet lamp per annum. One sometimes can scarcely see the lamp post, let alone being able to read by the light of the lamp. Hoping your correspondent will suggest some means of better lighting our streets, I am, &0., One who Wants Mon Light, Dunedin, June 14.
