CITY POLICE COURT.
Tuesday, June 15. (Before his Worship the Mayor and A. Mercer. Esq., J.P.’s.)
Drunkenness. Charles Smith, Patrick Frances, Charles Oakwell, and James Murphy, charged with being drunk at Blueskin, failed to appear when called'On to answer to their bails. Smith forfeited his bail (40s); the others were fined 10s. Wm. Blake and John Brittain were fined ss, in default twenty four hours’ imprisonment ; Wm. M'Dermott, 40s, er three days’. Neighbors’ Disagreements.— Michael and Sarah Gorman were jointly charged with assaulting and beating Agnes Lamb on the 12th inst. MrDenniston appeared for the defence. —The alleged battery consisted in both defendants’ shaking their fists in complainant’s face, and of the male offender using threatening language.—The Bench dismissed the charge against the woman, and bound the man over to keep the peace for six months, in his own recognisance of L2O.
Assault. —John Kidd was charged with assaulting Anne Murdoch, a little girl, on the 14th inst.—Complainant stated accused had placed hands on her in an indecent manner and wished her to go with him.—Accused was discharged with a caution.
