ATHLETIC SPORTS.

To (he Editor. Sib.—Having noticed in your paper letters from ' Old Sport ” and “A. J. ” on the sub{ect of athletic sports, and showing the advisability of getting up an athlectio club in Dunedin, 1 think that they must be ignorant of the fact that there are classes held at the Gymnasium in the High School every evening, pro sided over by Mr W. B. Long; and, also, that there are boxing and fencing classes in connection therewith. I think it is far better for young men to attend these classes, where they are put through a regular course, under the eye of a qualified master, than that they should form themselves into a club where, generally speaking, there is no system and certainly no discipline, as was evidenced by a former Dunedin Athletic Club.-—I am, &c, M, A Dunedin, June 7.
