Last night a motion—that a Minister of Edu?bS±a?POn ted ’ who shall be a member of the Executive Council and Provincial Council -- was agreed to by 18 to H. Mr Harper obtained leave to withdraw his resolution re the consideration of the question of pasture leases Dr Turnbull, oi!e of the c% S&. J* mm 6 to *ni«ht that an endowment oi 25 000 acres of land be made for Christchurch. On the motion of Mr Pilliot, a sum of ruou-v was ordered to be placed on the estimates for surveying a line of railway from Lincoln, on the Christchurch anil ■ outhbri lge line to Akaroa. The Railway Tolls Ordinance, which provides for an increase on the rates of carriage for imports, created a great deal of adverse criticism last night. The Bill will be further considered to-night.
