PORT CHALMERS TOWN COUNCIL.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Port Chalmers Town Council took place last evening, when there were present his Worship the Mayor, Crs Rose, Dodson, Menelaus, M'Kenzie, Middleditch, Miller, an-1 Asher. Of communications referring to Mr Reid’s crossing in Grey street, from the Solicitor relative to transfer of Captain Thomson’s lease, from Mr M‘Cauley offering to lease section 137, Island Terrace, from Mr Wylie stating that the cemetery road was completed, and wishing to be informed where the Council would have the fence erected, from the same gentleman, requesting permission to roll stones from the north end of the large qnarry into the road, from Mr Campbell, reporting the progress of the waterworks—the application of Mr M Cauley declined, that of Mr Wylie, referring to the cemetery road, referred to the Reserves Committee, and that asking permission to remove stone held over for consideration until next meeting. wr re P orts V f tlK ‘ Reserves Debentures and Water Committees were read and received with the exception of a clause in the Water Committees report, advising the Council to offer a bonus of LlO per week to the contractor for every week he handed over the works before the expiration of the contract time, this being reserved for further consideratlOU.
