IMPORTANT GOLD DISCOVERY.
SCANDINAVIAN REEF, SKIPPERS.
The ‘ Daily Times * published the following erroneous statement this morning: Queenstown correspondent telegraphed yesterday as follows—News has been forwarded from Skippers that the Nugget Reef tributes hayestruck quartz five feet thick, with gold that will yield oOozs. to the ton. The news was sent here by a well-known speculator, but requires confirmation. We leam by telegram from our correspondent at the Arrow to-day that the discovery referred to is in the Phctnix claim. Skippers, belonging to Mr Sullen recently leased to a party of eight tnbuters for stem of seven years at 15 per cent, tribute. The Nugget reef is not let on tribute. The discovery made is that of a solid reef six feet wide, showing splendid gold, and being m the bottom level tunnel is of great value to the claim.
