DEPUTATION.

Messrs M'Dermid, M.P.0., A Thomson, D. Miller, and D. Law waited upon the Superintendent this morning and laid before him the resolutions re the Harbor Board passed at a public meeting at Port Chalmers on the 4th inst. Mr M‘Dermid referred at some length to the Board’s action re jetty dues On the Port Chalmers wharves, and demonstrated how little reliance could be placed on the Board, The deputation protested on behalf of Port Chalmers .and the outlying districts against the Board’s proposed action—an injustice which they urgently requested his Honor to prevent. His Honor said he would bring the whole matter befoire the Executive.
