THE COMING SESSION.
{Nelson Colonist, April 22) We understand that the various returning officers throughout the Colony have received instructions from the General Government to have the electoral rolls for the present year prepared by the end ot [August next. If this be true, and we have no reason to doubt it, it is highly probable there will be two sessions of the General Assembly between the present time and Christrtras. It is supposed that about the middle of July, Parliament will meet, and, after passim- the estimates, dissolve without dealing with any other business. Then the general elections will take place, and -when they are over the new Parliament will be called together. It is generally believed that a number of members who are Mr Vogel’s supporters ,will find themselves, on the polling -day, left out in the cold; and this the Government know full well, but, nothing daunted, they will ascertain what the people think respecting the Provinces, let the consequences be what they may. There will probably be an interval of eight or ten weeks between the dissolution of the present Parliament and the meeting of the next.
