PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Peninsula Road Board was held at the Higbeliff Schoolhouse on Saturday last; Mr Alexander Stewart in the chair. An intimation from his Honor the Superintendent was read signifying his approval of a particular rate for the NorthEast Harbor Sub-division. The Clerk was instructed to advertise the rate as payable, which is sixpence in the £ on the general valuation. A letter from Mr E. Cook, solicitor, on behalf of Mr R. On the motion of Mr Hooper, North-East Harbor was allowed to exceed its amount of rate by TfO, to be repaid out of next year’s rate, for the purpose of finishing deviation on Beach road and spreading metal on No. Iroad. Several letters from other Road Boards were read in connection with the proposed preliminary conference of Road Boards. It was resolved to hold the conference on Tuesday, the 11th inst., at Murray’s Private Hotel, at 1 p.m. Mr Hooper was instructed to prepare a list of subjects for consideration.
