TOWN EDITION. THE HARBOR BOARD.
At the meeting of this body to-day there were present—Messrs Ramsay (in the chair), Davie, M‘Neil, D. Reid, Tewsley, M'Dermid, and Cargill.
Messrs M'Neil and Davie were deputed to request the railway authorities to grant free passes to the Board’s officers.
Mr Ramsay gave notice of the following motion for the next meeting:—“ That provision be made in the Amended Otago Harbor Board Ordinance whereby the Mayor of the City of Dunedin shall be a member cx oflcio of the Otago Harbor Board.”
Mr D. L. Simpson, engineer to the Board, m view of the appproaching meeting of the Provincial (. ouncil, submitted a general report upon the harbor improvement now being proceeded with under his control. The report concluded thus:—The work of Harbor survey is progressing in such a manner that I expect to be in a position to lay my final report before tbe Board about the end of July next. The Board then adjourned till Tuesday next.
