Drunkenness.— James Frair was fined ss. Mary M'Carthy, who stated that she had only arrived, in the Colony on Thursday last, was also charged with drunkenness. The arresting constable stated that he saw her walking down thsvjoM jetty the previous evening. Shortly afterwards a man called for assistance, and on proceeding to the end of the wharf he assisted the prisoner put of the water and took her to the lock up. She was fined 40s, or three days’ imprisonment. Assault.— J. C. Wylie was fined 20s and costs, for assaulting Michael Sutton.
