N.E. VALLEY ASSAULT CASE.

The woman Jeffreys, the assault on whom by a man named Crossman was reported in °ur Monday’s issue, died at the Hospital yesterday. Her husbank, who has been drinking very heavily since his arrival here, was last night taken to the Hospital, and then was in such a state from the effects of excessive drinking as to be almost unconscious. An inquest on the body of Mrs Jeffreys will be held probably to-morrow.
