states this for Jus own part that this must be a deliberate falsehood. Although the Government kept him out of his money, fot several months after the vouchers were duly certified by the District Engineer. There is now due to him about L 2.050, and as far as he knows all his men are paid: at any rate, all those who asked *for it.
