, The w ?ekly meeting of the Board was held this morning ; present—The Chief Commissioner, Messrs Bastings, Butterworth. Clarke, and Strode.
Mr A. Cameron, per Gillies and Street, applied to purchase 20 awes on the flat at the mouth of the Wairau River for homestead for run 456. Referred to the Chief Surveyor for advice.
Messrs Lamb amt Dabinett applied per Gillioa and Street for a reset ve in the township o£ Gore. Referred to the Superintendent.
..^ r . ® e r’? 1 applied to 'purchase section 62, block 4, Hillend. Declined The Lawrence District Land Officer reported on Mr J. Ross’s application for sections 99 and 100, block 5, Waitahuna East. The action of the Warden approved under the circumstances.
'Ore Lawrence District Land Officer had made inquiries with regard to receiving more than one application under deferred payments for land in the same block. Approved under the circumstances.
The Lawrence District Land Officer transnutted Messrs J. and W. MTarlane’s application for a water-race at Tapanui, adjorning the township. Survey to h e forwarded. Messrs Maoassey and Kettle lodged notice of appeal against the decision of the Board on March 22 in Mr J. E. Herbert’s application for land at Green vale. Noted. Mr F. R. Chapman asked if anything further had been done in Mrs Lewis’s application. Referred to the Government. The Nasoby District Land Officer asked instructions with reference to deposits lodged by unsuccessful balloters under the deferred payment system.
