The amount of revenue received at the Custom* house on goods cleared for consumption this day was L1,(516 18s 7d. The total revenue collected during March was L32,70213s sd. Messrs Gillies and Street report the sale of Sir John Larkins Cheese Richardson’s estate, Willowmead, Puoroa, to Mr A. W. Morris, as agent for the trustees of the late Mr Robert Mackay, W.S., Edinburgh. Price and terms withheld. Melbourne, March 2S. —Wheat and flour are in better demand. At Adelaide sales of wheat have been made at 4s.
At the annual meeting of the Commercial Building Society last night, the directors congratulated shareholders on the satisfactory results of the year’s operations, and recommended a bonus of 14 per cent, on amount standing at the credit of entitled participating shareholders, carrying forward a balance of LB2 15s 4d to next year. Tne report went on to say that “ 1,906 new shares have been taken up, making in all for the five years 6,114 shares. The.revenue from all sources, save interest, has been for the same period L 1,704 Os 9d, and the expenditure L 1,314 18s 4d, showing a profit of L 389 2s 5d on these items. The business of the Society having greatly increased during the p;iat year, the directors recommend that a bonus.orLSO. be given to the secretary fo~ ins increased labor." The balance-sheet showed that the amount on which this bonus of 14 per cent, was paid was L 20.738, the amount given in bonus being L 2,903, and that the Society had issued to the amount or L 12.291. Messrs Elliott, Sutherland, M'Douald, and Watson were elected directors,and Mr Currie was elected shareholders’ auditor.

In the wool market general prices ore firm. Sydney superior fleece is weaker. The next series commences in May, the probable arrivals for which will amount to 400,000 bales. The wheat market is firmer; Adelaide is nominal at 48s to 60s. Hemp sold at 16s to 19s.
